Quick Summary

  • Accessible by public transit:
    • Started from the PostAuto stop Alvaneu Dorf, Dorfplatz
    • Returned by train from Arosa
  • The first part of the route up to the small village of Aclas Dafora consisted of gravel road
    • Remainder of the route consisted exclusively of single trails
  • This route seems to not be very popular among hikers, I assume because it would be so long to do as a single-day hike
    • There are not really any opportunities to take shortcuts along the Welschtobel
    • Most of the people I encountered were mountain bikers
  • The ascent to the Furcletta was extremely steep, but I found the descent on the other side to the Ramozhütte SAC to be considerably less steep
    • Note that the Ramozhütte SAC is a Selbstversorgungshütte, meaning that there are no opportunities to purchase food or drink there
