Quick Summary

  • A relatively short hike with a few short scrambles over the Bleikigrat.
  • Drove to Dallenwil.
    • Took the cable from Dallenwil to Niederrickenbach.
    • Returned via the cable car from Musenalp to Niederrickenbach and then Niederrickenbach to Dallenwil.
  • Most of the hike was through steep grassy fields.
  • We didn’t meet anyone on the trail until we arrived at the Buochserhorn.
    • On our descent from the Buochserhorn there were several groups that were on their way up.
    • The route to the Buochserhorn could potentially be quite busy on weekends given how accessible it is.
  • After reaching the Buochserhorn, we descended down to the Bleikigrat.
    • This ridge was marked white-blue-white and had a few fairly exposed sections.
  • There were a few scrambles which were predominantly over the blocky limestone.
    • One short passage was secured with a short ladder.
    • Most of the rocky scrambling sections had relatively good handholds.
  • From Musenalp we descended back to Niederrickenbach (and then Dallenwil) with the cable car.
